City Makerspace – Textiles Studio

Overview

The Textiles Studio Makerspace is where staff and students of the School of Humanities, Creative Industries & Social Sciences (HCISS) can work on projects, collaborate, share ideas, and problem-solve. This particular studio has a fabrics and textiles focus.

UNH206 + 207 University House, Level 2, Room 206 + 207

9:00am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday

Closed Public Holidays

This space is currently bookable by appointment only – Please see Technical Staff or submit a Technical Ticket Request

Access to the Textiles Studio Makerspace requires successfully completing:

  1. The Level 1 General Induction
  2. The Level 2 City Makerspaces Induction

Certain equipment requires additional specialist inductions.

Usage of the Makerspace is currently limited to students and staff of the School of Humanities, Creative Industries, Creative Industries & Social Sciences (HCISS).



Available Equipment

The City Makerspaces have three tiers of equipment. The equipment found in the Textiles Studio Makerspace in University House includes:

Green – General Induction

This equipment is available for use straight after the L1 City Makerspaces induction

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Staplers
  • Cutting Mats & Blades
  • Silk Screen Printing
Class Green Level 1 Equipment

Orange – Specialist Inductions

This equipment requires a specialist individual or small group induction by the Technical Staff

Class Orange Level 2 Equipment

Red – Trained Staff Only

This equipment is to be operated by Technical and trained staff only
