Overview 

Steps to export timeline from Adobe Premiere to DaVinci Resolve and back to Adobe Premiere 

Step by Step: 

In Premiere 

File > Export > Final Cut XML 

Save XML in project folder 

In Resolve 

Create New Project 

File > Import AAF, EDL, XML… 

Select XML exported from Premiere 

Check Project settings then click OK 

Project will now be imported and linked from previous Premiere Project 

In Resolve 

Click on Deliver 

Render Settings > Premiere XML 

Ensure “Export Video” Is Selected 

Location (create new folder inside your project file called “Resolve Export”) 

Click “add to Render Queue” 

Click Start Render 

Wait (Can take up to 6x longer than file length, also export files will be very large) 

In Premiere 

Open original Premiere Project 

File>Import 

Find the “Resolve Export” folder created previously 

Select the XML file then click “Import” 

There now should now be a new sequence with original name + (Resolve) in the name
