Safe Drawing Area Sheet for A-Sizing Paper

As an A4 page is not the same shape and ratio as HD TV (1920 x 1080), it’s easy to forget when you’re animating on A4 or A3 paper. If you make it the wrong shape for the screen size you will not only lose your hard work when you photograph it in the correct format but your composition and shot choices will be effected.

Use this template under your drawings on the lightbox to make sure you are making everything fit on an HD screen. Because it’s also a ratio this template can magically work for A3 simply by printing it out on A3 paper!

X-Sheet

An exposure sheet is a traditional animation tool that allows an animator to organize their thinking and give instructions to the camera operator on how the animation is to be shot. It consists of five sections, and is a bit longer and a bit narrower, than A4.
